WHAT IS PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS (PHEP)?

Public Health Emergency Preparedness primes individuals and local agencies to cope with and prepare for natural and/or manmade disasters through communication, planning, training, and prevention.

A public health emergency is an event that creates health risks to Granite County’s public. This can include anything from natural disasters to infectious disease outbreaks to bioterrorist attacks.

Although Granite County feels rather safeguarded from such events it is the preparedness aspect that will keep us ready in the event of a public health emergency.

Vaccine Information

Granite County Public Health is currently offering COVID-19 Vaccinations in Drummond and Philipsburg. Please contact Jackie Bolster to schedule appointment at 406-370-5060.

Drummond office located at 212 East Front Street, Drummond

Monday 8AM-4:30PM

Philipsburg office located in Granite County Courthouse basement

Wednesday 10AM-2PM

Getting vaccinated prevents severe illness, hospitalizations, and death. Unvaccinated people should get vaccinated and continue masking until they are fully vaccinated. With the Delta variant, this is more urgent than ever. CDC has updated guidance for fully vaccinated people based on new evidence on the Delta variant.

Although fewer children have been infected with COVID-19 compared to adults, children can:

• Be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19

• Get sick from COVID-19

• Spread COVID-19 to others

CDC recommends everyone 5years and older should get a COVID-19 vaccination to help protect against COVID-19. Widespread vaccination is a critical tool to help stop the pandemic. People who are fully vaccinated can resume activities that they did prior to the pandemic. Learn more about what you and your child or teen can do when you have been fully vaccinated. Children 5 years and older are able to get the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine.
